The real question is not whether to automate, but where human judgement must interrupt the machine. When a supplier’s risk profile changes faster than procurement paperwork, trust moves first and approvals have to keep up.
From what I have seen over the last few quarters, the teams shipping safely are not the ones with the flashiest AI stack. They are the ones with clear thresholds, named owners and evidence attached to claims before anyone presses publish. A sensible content automation workflow should speed up routine work, then slow down on purpose when legal, reputational or public-interest risk enters the room. Practical method
The cleanest operating model I have seen is a three-lane approval system. You do not need a cathedral of process. You need a route map, clear ownership and a timestamped audit trail.
